LAKE STREET RESIDENCE

This project seeks to create a place for families or large groups to come together and enjoy the lake experience. The outdoor space between the house and the lakeshore becomes the primary occupancy, followed by the large open common space on the second floor that overlooks it. These spaces are designed for lightness, openness, and access, with plenty of room for all kinds of family and group activities. The formal dining room is supported by a full bar and floats above the lake to create an inspiring setting for meals. The bedrooms, secondary lounge, and support spaces all wrap around the main double-height great room, providing beds for groups up to 16 people. The entire structure stands on a 440 SF ground floor footprint that minimizes displacement and maximized permeability in this flood-sensitive location.
