LAKESIDE CROSSING CLUBHOUSE

This project was conceived as a hub for residents of a small community to provide a variety of services and amenities.  In addition to community management offices, the building offers a community lounge and living room for shared events, a kitchen for catering events, an exercise room, and a neighborhood swimming pool with picnic and outdoor cooking facilities.

 

A descending natural wood canopy draws visitors into the front entry and then opens back up to a large, flexible open lounge space soaked in natural light.  The different textures of metal cladding give the building a refined edge using common materials, and offset the rough texture of the native limestone accents.

 

Exposed steel beams span expansive sliding glass doors that pocket into a steel-clad panel at the rear of the building, bringing the gracious covered patio and view into the swimming pool into the lounge area.  Ample shaded seating area wraps this area to create an outdoor environment that can be enjoyed even during the heat of the summer.

 

By combining so many amenities in one place, we sought to create a point of contact where neighbors can come together and develop a strong sense of community.
