FONTANA RESIDENCE

This project was a ground-up renovation of an existing 900 square foot 1960s bungalow in South Austin.  The condition of the existing infrastructure required a complete replacement of the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.  A new 400 square foot master bedroom suite was also added off the back of the existing structure.  The entire building now features brand new, energy efficient LED lighting, insulated windows, and a high-efficiency mechanical system.  It also takes advantage of natural daylighting to reduce electricity consumption.  All this was achieved while maintaining the scale of the surrounding homes and infusing a contemporary aesthetic into the more conventional form of the house.
